Members and Explorers train at the same time and on the same subject.
Trainings are normally scheduled on Saturday following the business meeting. During the spring, summer and fall months our training schedule is doubled to twice a month.
Training covers several disciplines; map reading, 2-way radio communications, First Aid, CPR, tornado spotting, down power wires, basic USAR, K9 handler, building search procedures, traffic control, helicopter safety, loading a helicopter ambulance, landing zone safety/prep, grid search, skid car, rail road derailment, rail road grade crossing safety, dealing with other agencies, swift water rescue, down aircraft search, direction finding (DF), flood rescue and monitoring, basic emergency medical services, field evacuations and much more.
Most training classes take place on the weekends, however an accessional week days is possible.
