Explorer Post 1574 in Action

See what we've been up too.

Above - Our Explorers help with the Police Academy (P.O.S.T.) training twice a year. No worries no one here was really arrested. RSAR helps with their accident investigation three day class. These was a truck loaded with high school students, that ran into a stop sign (it was already at that angle) and it was up to the cadets to see what the real story is. When you 7 teenagers with different stories, plus one in a gorilla suite, well you can see how the cadets handle the scene.

Not only do the cadets have to calm the scene, but they still have to do the paperwork on investigating the accident, draw diagrams, etc.  

Our Explorers' said they had a fun time doing this class. It's the only time you can play with the COPS without getting into trouble. Our Explorers learn how and why law enforcement do what they do at traffic stops and what might really happen. . . . Training for both, all in the spirit of training. As we say these days -  lessons learned.

Above - Every year we are involved with the BSA Scout show at the Denver stock show held in April. Above shows several explorers talking to other scouts about what they do and show off our rescue equipment. One year we won 1st prize for team spirit.

Above - One of our Explorers at "Operation Free Bird" one of our many functions we do every year, explaining on how our dogs search for lost people.

Above - At the County Fair, our Explores run our dunk tank. They have lots of fun with the crowds and talking to folks about the group and what we do.

Above - We provide training for other agencies along with they provide training for us. In this photo we were working with the Adams County Coroner Office.

Did we mention that we have two cadaver dogs!
